During the winter, some of Kingston's most creative artists will be painting, decorating and embellishing old pieces of wooden furniture and bringing them to new and beautiful life. Transformed into one-of-a-kind pieces of art, they will be part of both a silent and live auction at The Great Furniture Revival, with Alicia Gordon of Gordon's Estate Services doing the honours as auctioneer.
At 6:00 p.m., guests will be greeted with a glass of "bubbly" and delicious finger food, while they look over the displays and bid on the silent auction items. The live auction will begin around 8:30.
Proceeds from the auction will go towards the Children's Cancer Fund at the Cancer Centre of Eastern Ontario at Kingston General Hospital.
With this festive occasion, The Andy Fund of Kingston will celebrate its official "retirement" from active fund-raising for cancer-related projects, which these dedicated volunteers have been doing successfully since 1986 when they started raising money for leukemia research.
