MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

> Overview
Our mental health awareness or
public education program works to increase understanding and
acceptance of mental illness, to increase awareness of family
violence and to promote the development and maintenance of
mental health.
> How It Works
> The program
provides resources in print, audio,
video and Internet formats. Print items include the branch
newsletter, Going Places, and CMHA Ontario's Network
Magazine. These resources are available to all at no
cost.
> We also deliver displays at events,
workshops and speaking engagements
on mental health topics in many contexts and at various
locations across the community.
> We promote and support events such as Mental Health
Awareness Week in
May and Mental Illness Awareness Week in October.
> We collaborate and exchange referrals with many agencies in
the community.
> Mental health awareness is also provided through our
information and referral program.
