> Overview
This program is a national project
currently taking place in CMHA branches across Canada. With support
from CMHA National through the Opportunities Fund of HRDC, the
branches
help consumers obtain employment in the competitive workplace.
Strategies are geared to the individual, and include assistance with
skills development, educational upgrading, career decision-making,
resume writing, job search and employment maintenance.
> Process
Interested candidates for the program will undergo an application
process with the Employment Support Worker (ESW), where their
eligibility will be determined. Upon successful acceptance into the
program, clients will then be asked to come in for a formal
interview. From there the clients will begin working on their
action plans where they and meet with the ESW on a one-to-one basis
in order to start towards achieving their goals). The
action plan that is created will help determine the steps and skills
the client needs to take to obtain employment. The clients set the
pace of the process and decide on the most appropriate strategy for
them.
